At this time of year, Chrysanthemum flowers (or "Mums" as they are often called in the U.S.) are the most popular flower in the garden shops where I live. They are usually sold in autumnal colors of golden yellow, rusty orange, burgundy and white. People here usually display pots of them near the front entry of their homes. When I was a teenager, mums were also the traditional flower worn as a corsage by girls attending their high school's fall Homecoming dance.
